What is it?

NASS is a group of people that admire Triumph Spitfires and GT6's. These cars were produced from 1962 through 1980. NASS was founded on the Internet during some discussions in a Spitfire mailing list, about the need for such a group in early 2000. NASS has started growing from a website that is provided by Yahoo/eGroups. The web address is:http://www.groups.yahoo.com/group/nass/

In the fall of 2000, officers were elected and after much planning and organizing, the club started taking paid memberships in April of 2001.

Do I have to own a Spitfire or GT6 in order to join?

NO, you only need to have an interest in these wonderful cars.

Do I have to have Internet access in order to join?

NO! While the Internet makes it an easy way to communicate, we realize that everyone does not have access to the Internet. We will use the US Postal Service to send you information in the US & Canada.

Do I have to live in the US or Canada to join?

NO! The name implies its base on the North American continent, but any interested person may join regardless of the country they live in. However, foreign members (those outside the N.A. continent) will only receive information via the Internet to avoid international mailing costs.

What activities are planned for this club?

The club held its' First "Annual Event", and all members of NASS were invited to attend a parade, car show, road tour and other similar events. This took place on July 3 & 4, 2001, in Farragut, TN (suburb of Knoxville). Other ideas are to have regional meetings, where different geographical groups (referred to as "Wings") will hold meetings and rallies as interest and weather permits.

How do I benefit from joining?

The benefits from joining NASS are numerous. As well as participating in future activities, you will be issued a membership card, a certificate of membership (suitable for framing), a quarterly club newsletter, and a window decal to identify you to other car owners as a member of this club. You will also have access to purchase different clothing items such as hats, polo shirts, and T-shirts with the club logo embroidered or screen printed on them. You will be part of an international group of Spitfire and GT6 owners, giving you resources to the collective knowledge of all members. This means if you are having a problem with your Spitfire/GT6 or have trouble locating parts, help is just one letter away. By writing to the club Secretary, your problem will be posted on the NASS mail list online to seek out answers from others that have experienced the same problem. Your question may also be published in the quarterly club newsletter to reach all those offline to find answers to help you. Just imagine, a world full of Spitfire/GT6 owners trying to find solutions to your problems.
Yearly dues are $20US.
